Bad news if you’ve been avoiding iPad hype and holding out for a tablet based on NVIDIA’s second-gen Tegra chipset and the Notion Ink Adam. according to slashgear, all projects based on the new Tegra chip have been delayed, and that none are expected to arrive on the market before late August 2010. The issue – which is said to include a combination of hardware and software technical problems, as well as stability and Flash availability – will impact projects such as Notion Ink’s Adam, the ICD Ultra and Vega and a 7-inch Compal tablet that had been expected to arrive in early June 2010.
It seems that Apple may have been the first in the market, introducing the iPad. However, it looks like the real competition is just around the corner as every major mobile and computer manufacturer is talking about their own version of the tablet. Google has nothing to prove in the OS aspect of the tablet, as we have already witnessed Android capabilities on the Notion Ink Adam and on Nvidia's Tegra tablet. Microsoft joined forces with HP in an attempt to dominate the tablet market, which ended up as a huge disappointment, as the $500 tablet is nothing more than a Windows 7 touchscreen PC. Nvidia recently introduced its new tablet that has 1 GB of RAM, 2 USB ports and a frontal camera (three things that the iPad does not have). Lets hope that Google will meet our expectations.
