Notion Ink CEO Rohan Shravan has put out the call for application development partners interested in producing programs that run on his company's new Andriod-based Adam tablet computers. He has promised that the devices will be released first in the countries where the most independent software development partners are located. Unlike the iPad, the Notion Ink Adam uses open hardware and is therefore capable of running different operating systems. In addition to the Android install that comes on the devices, users will be able to choose to use Google's much anticipated Chrome OS (if it ever comes out) or a slimmed-down version of popular Linux distro Ubuntu. Which of these operating systems do you think is best?

It allows you to run a bunch of different Android applications at the same time, so all the Android applications that are already available will work on the device from the very first day it ships. The NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform combines a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, with a clock frequency of 1GHz, with NVIDIA graphics capable of handling multimedia files in HD format. This means that the Adam can play video in high definition, a capability that can be easily taken advantage of thanks to the built-in HDMI output. The device also has three USB ports, a 3-megapixel autofocus camera and wireless connectivity capabilities through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G (HSPA/GSM).
