Notion Ink has announced their new tablet PC, the nVidia-powered Adam table which runs the Android OS and a Pixel Qi screen that incorporates the best of both LCD and ePaper display technologies. It is promising flash support, as well as full 1080p HD movie playback and integrated HDMI. It is truly a feast full of wonderful technological capacities. On November 5, 2007, the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of several companies which include Texas Instruments, Broadcom Corporation, Google, HTC, Intel, LG, Marvell Technology Group, Motorola, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile was unveiled with the goal to develop open standards for mobile devices. The NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform combines a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, with a clock frequency of 1GHz, with NVIDIA graphics capable of handling multimedia files in HD format. This means that the Adam can play video in high definition, a capability that can be easily taken advantage of thanks to the built-in HDMI output. The device also has three USB ports, a 3-megapixel autofocus camera and wireless connectivity capabilities through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G (HSPA/GSM).
