Open Question: Will the MeBot be the way we chat in the future?
mebot | Mar 2nd, 2010 | by Brandon
The MeBot allows people to be in different locations and appear as they are in the same room. Although this would probably work best with holograms, the MeBot is a semi-autonomous robotic avatar that gives a person a richer way to interact remotely with an audience than is allowed with phone and video conferencing. via technabob

Vote for: Is the Antro new Solo electric hybrid prototype the car of the future?
car | Mar 8th, 2010 | by Brandon
This prototype design relies on a light magnesium alloy/carbon fiber frame and body construction, where it features electric assist for when the occupants tire or the driver is alone. Incorporation of photovoltaic cells on the roof itself will power the electric hub motors at each wheel during those sunny days, although this is but in the pipeline at the moment. source coolest-gadgets

Vote for: What do you think about Freescale tablet concept?
freescale tablet concept | May 26th, 2010 | by Brandon
Freescale are following up on their first batch of mobile device concepts with another idea for the table of the future, a multimedia and pro-audio focused slate. Targeted at college-age students “into art and music”, the unnamed tablet would have a number of modular docking stations into which it could snap for specialised connectivity. From DJ to home audio, this docking system allows the smartbook tablet to connect to systems that already exist. If you’re looking to consume multimedia, such as with an HDTV or a HiFi system of some sort, the “Home Bar” could offer HDMI, VGA, composite and component connections, along with ethernet and USB. Meanwhile, a “Pro Custom Audio Bar” might have XLR, MIDI and S/PDIF connectivity, for integrating the tablet with an existing synth, turntable or DJ system.
