USB flash drives are great, because they allow lots of data to be stored in a small package and easily distributed to other people using a standardized digital medium. However, making many copies of the same flash drive for distribution can take a long time if you have only a few USB ports to spare. Thankfully, there are bulk copiers available. As flash memory becomes cheaper and easier to make, and the die sizes become smaller, bigger and bigger flash drives will become the norm. 256 Gigabytes is a very large drive, larger than many netbooks' primary drives, and even larger than some desktops'. Vote for: Would you buy a flash-based hard drive that mounts directly on your motherboard's USB Header?
usb | Apr 27th, 2010 | by Owen Ferguson

| Yes! That's a great way to integrate flash storage into a system. |

| No, I'd rather connect it externally, through a USB port. |
ATP Electronics released an internal USB solid state storage device. The device sits on one USB internal header cluster on the motherboard (occupying headers for two ports), to provide fixed storage of up to 4 GB in a package that measures 8.2 (L) x 15.3 (W) x 6.2 (H) mm. The package is dust, vibration and ESD resistant. It uses single-level cell (SLC) NAND flash chips, and provides speeds typical to storage devices connected over USB 2.0, around 30 MB/s. The device is said to be industrial-grade, and can be deployed in embedded computers. The package is advertised to be extremely durable, making use of the System In Package (SIP) technology that protects vital components.

transformers 2 "ravage" jaguar 8gb usb flash drive | Mar 22nd, 2010 | by Amasch
This transformers USB drive is not very fast...in fact it is pretty slow! It has a reading rate of 12MB per sec and a writing rate of 7MB per sec. The only wow factor about it is that it can transform into a jaguar which sure is an amusement. So tell us would you buy this USB drive or not?

usb watch | Apr 28th, 2010 | by Amasch
This is not a watch which can store data, instead it is watch that can store your mini USB drive at one end of its strap. It keeps the USB drive safe and within reach, making sure you would never again misplace it. Would you use it?
